Summary

Today, the complex sensations of comfort (interaction body – clothing, suitability of fabrics, etc.) are subjectively evaluated on a static body. The goal of this project was to provide new knowledge about garment comfort and fit taking into account the body movement. The comfort sensation was objectively measured with new 3D simulation tools on animated bodies, returning numerical fitting data.

Thus, with this research, new avenues can be opened up for the development of innovative applications of advanced garment design. In particular, new pattern making methods taking into account the body movement can be imagined, an aspect that current processes are not able to consider nor apply in clothing.

A pilot project was carried out within the framework of this research, watch the video here.

Summary

Experience 49 legendary musical moments like you have never seen or heard them before.

The immersive video jukebox developed in collaboration with EPFL allows users to interact naturally with a broad range of audio and visual content. User gestures are tracked by a motion capture system, sonified in real time, and used as a controller to navigate the best moments of the Montreux Jazz Festival digital concert archive.

The video jukebox was installed next to the entrance of Auditorium Stravinski during the Montreux Jazz Festival 2015.

Summary

3D In Motion (3DIM) was installed during the Caprices Festival 2015 in Crans-Montana. The setup combines motion capture and 3D visualizations. During the concerts, an interaction zone allows people to dance and their movements to be captured and converted into 3D graphics in real time. The generated visuals are then projected on a huge screen in the concert room.

The people could choose among six different 3D scenarios. Their individual performances were recorded and could be downloaded after the event.
