Summary

For the exhibition Niklaus Manuel and the Reformation Period of the Historical Museum of Bern, we participated to the production of an animated short film based on Manuel’s Dance of Death, a mural consisting of 24 scenes depicting death dancing with people as diverse as an emperor, a beggar, a queen, an abbot, a soldier, a cook, a child and its mother. Choreographer Nina Stadler and dancer Fhunyue Gao conceived an expressive dance performance that was motion captured.

Summary

Shoulder instability is a common pathology in young or athletic adult that results in chronic dislocations or subluxations. When multiple dislocations episodes occur, surgical treatment is indicated. But this treatment really stabilizes the joint or only prevents it to dislocate?

The objective of this study was to investigate and compare the shoulder stability in patients with anterior instability by performing a dynamic motion capture analysis before and after surgical treatment. The results of this study provided a better understanding of this disease, and evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed surgical treatment.

Summary

We were contacted by the Swiss artist, Quentin Lannes, to capture movements of boxers in action for his fiction project.

The Next Round is a fiction that questions the practices of the body (here in sport and more specifically in boxing) in the era of virtual reality devices. A boxer whose movements are recorded by motion capture, fights a numerical simulation of another boxer, present in another physical space, hundreds of kilometers from him.

Summary

We participated to the creation of a show combining dance and 3D animation where a crowd of virtual characters were embodied on stage by a dancer. His 3D clones were projected on three big screens behind him and animated by a choreography that was motion captured before the show. The dancer had to synchronize on stage with the 3D animation to achieve the illusion.

This show was created for the re-branding of Mauritius Telecom.

Summary

We were contacted by the Natural History Museum of Geneva to create a serious game as part of the exhibition Faites comme chez nous: Les géants de Kem Kem.

This exhibition brings adolescents of 12-15 years in Morocco to look for unique dinosaur species. Through an interactive digital scenario, they share the daily life of a paleontologist, from digging the ground to the study of fossils.
