Summary

Wind Clothing is a 3D scanning project developed with the Fédération Française de Ski (FFS) to support the design of aerodynamic clothing for French ski cross athletes.

Artanim performed high-resolution 3D body scans of the athletes, providing accurate body models that were used to create custom-fitted garments optimized for downhill aerodynamics.

The project contributed to the development of technical apparel ahead of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, where even small aerodynamic improvements can translate into valuable hundredths of a second.

Summary

Fashioning Movement is a pilot project developed with HEAD – Genève to explore new methods for evaluating garment comfort and fit while the body is in motion.

Traditional garment fitting is largely assessed on a static body. The project investigates how motion capture, animated 3D bodies and garment simulation can provide objective data on how clothing deforms, stretches and interacts with the body during movement.

The resulting measurements help visualize garment fit dynamically and establish a methodology for studying comfort beyond static evaluation.

The work serves as a preliminary study for the broader research project Fashioning Movement.
