Summary

Sochi 2014 is a 3D animation project created for Kenzan SA featuring a series of winter sports performed by professional athletes.

For the project, Artanim spent several days in the Swiss mountains capturing athletes across Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, ice hockey, speed skating and bobsleigh.

The captured performances were used to animate the athletes in a 360° visual experience presented at the Omega House during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

Summary

The Great Imitator is a short animated film by Swiss filmmaker Boris Beer, conceived as a tribute to Charlie Chaplin.

For the project, Artanim captured a series of performances inspired by some of Chaplin’s most iconic scenes, including the globe sequence from The Great Dictator, the factory sequence from Modern Times, and scenes from The Kid.

The motion capture was performed by actor Fabrice Bessire, whose performances were used to recreate Chaplin’s physical comedy and distinctive movement in animation.
