Summary

Força Forte is a contemporary dance duet by choreographer Gilles Jobin, inspired by the concept of strong force in particle physics.

The piece explores the relationship between two bodies through different layers of reality, using 3D technology to extend the performers’ presence and transform the perception of space. Virtual bodies projected on screen interact with the live dancers, creating a dialogue between physical and digital movement.

For Força Forte, Artanim created 3D body scans of the dancers and performed the motion capture used to animate their virtual counterparts.

The work premiered in 2015 and toured in Switzerland and internationally in 2016 and 2017.

Summary

3DIM @ Caprices is an interactive installation presented during the 2015 Caprices Festival in Crans-Montana, combining motion capture with real-time 3D visualization.

During the concerts, visitors enter a dedicated interaction zone where their movements are captured and transformed into animated 3D graphics in real time. The resulting visuals are projected onto a large screen inside the concert venue, allowing participants to become part of the visual performance.

Visitors can choose from six different 3D scenarios, and each individual performance is recorded and made available for download after the event.

Summary

3D In Motion (3DIM) is an interactive framework for capturing, visualizing and sonifying human movement in real time. It turns the body into an expressive interface for creating and controlling 3D graphics and sound.

Movements are tracked using motion capture systems such as Vicon, Xsens or Kinect and instantly translated into visual and sonic events. Participants can use their entire body to manipulate virtual content, generate sound and even sculpt forms in 3D while immersed in a spatial audio environment.

3DIM is designed for live and real-time performance, including dance, music events and experimental artistic projects. The interaction can involve a single performer or multiple participants sharing the same interactive environment.

Summary

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève celebrates outstanding watchmaking creations each year.

Star Wars is a live performance created for an edition themed around “Time in the Cinema,” combining dance and 3D animation inspired by the iconic science-fiction universe.

On stage, a dancer embodies Darth Vader while a 3D version of the character and imperial troops are projected onto large screens behind him. The virtual characters reproduce the captured choreography, creating the illusion of a synchronized interaction between the live performer and his digital counterparts.

For Star Wars, Artanim captured the dancer’s choreography through motion capture and animated the 3D characters. The performer then reproduced the same choreography live on stage in synchronization with the projected animation.
