Summary

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève celebrates outstanding watchmaking creations each year.

Star Wars is a live performance created for an edition themed around “Time in the Cinema,” combining dance and 3D animation inspired by the iconic science-fiction universe.

On stage, a dancer embodies Darth Vader while a 3D version of the character and imperial troops are projected onto large screens behind him. The virtual characters reproduce the captured choreography, creating the illusion of a synchronized interaction between the live performer and his digital counterparts.

For Star Wars, Artanim captured the dancer’s choreography through motion capture and animated the 3D characters. The performer then reproduced the same choreography live on stage in synchronization with the projected animation.
