About Us
Artanim is a leading center in motion capture technologies. The non-profit foundation was founded in 2011 by three motion capture specialists: Caecilia Charbonnier, Clementine Lo and Sylvain Chagué.
Artanim’s motion capture activities span three complementary domains: cutting-edge research in Computer Graphics focused on medical research and virtual reality applications, award-winning interactive installations that leverage VR/AR, user performance and real-time control to create novel digital experiences, and collaborative educational programs with universities and professional schools that integrate motion capture workshops and courses into their curricula.
R&D
Studying and understanding human movement are essential across many research fields, and with much of motion capture’s potential still untapped, Artanim is committed to pioneering innovative solutions and applications using this technology.
Production
Smaller studios often face barriers to motion capture technology. As one of Switzerland’s premier mocap centers, Artanim is dedicated to broadening access and inspiring its use across all types of audiovisual projects. We also create cultural events that employ motion capture to explore new modes of expression and interactivity.
Education
Education is central to our mission. By immersing professionals and students in motion capture and its possibilities, we empower them to drive its future evolution.
Thanks to our interdisciplinary team—bringing together computer scientists, biomechanists, engineers and creative technologists—Artanim has developed an in-depth understanding of both the technical and practical challenges facing the industry. This unique blend of expertise has made us a partner of choice for organizations seeking to turn cutting-edge research into robust, market-ready solutions. By focusing on real-world applications rather than purely theoretical advances, we’ve mastered every aspect of the development pipeline. A prime example is our 10-year R&D collaboration behind the VR platform powering Dreamscape Immersive—an effort that delivered the ultimate immersive experience for their worldwide location-based entertainment centers and innovative educational and training programs.
