Summary

MyHip aims to develop a complete solution for the planning and execution of total hip arthroplasty (THA). By combining patient-specific morphology with hip kinematics and pelvic orientation, the project introduces a dynamic approach to surgical planning.

The planning method evaluates the behavior of the prosthetic hip during movement in order to define surgical parameters that reduce the risk of impingement, subluxation and dislocation. Intraoperative guidance tools (surgical guides) are also developed to accurately reproduce the preoperative plan during surgery.

Within MyHip, Artanim was responsible for developing the dynamic simulation module of the prosthetic hip, using motion capture data to reproduce patient-specific movement.
