Summary

In 1864, hotelier Johannes Badrutt helped establish St. Moritz as a winter tourism destination, encouraging visitors to experience the Engadin during the colder months. Over time, activities such as skiing, skating and curling contributed to the resort’s development as a major center for winter sports.

This augmented reality experience brings Johannes Badrutt back to life as a virtual character who shares his story and introduces visitors to the history of St. Moritz and its alpine heritage.

For this project, Artanim performed the full-performance capture of Johannes Badrutt, including body and facial capture, and created the animation of the virtual character.
